Best School Design Ideas (Happy Home Paradise)

The first facility players will need to design in ACNH Happy Home Paradise is a school, and there are some interesting design ideas to explore.

While playing the Happy Home Paradise DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players will design five facilities, including a school. There are a few requirements that need to be met, but players have control over all of the design choices as well as the layout of the classroom. When building the school, there are a few things to consider to optimize the facility while creating a unique and interesting design.

Each school requires a teacher’s desk, four chairs, and at least two desks for students. There are a few instances where players will need to go to the school, such as learning to add bugs to vacation home exteriors in ACNH. The more seats and desks there are, the fuller each class will be. The required items are meant to make the facility functional, but the rest of the design choices are up to the player.

Players can decorate the walls, ceiling, and open space in the classroom with a variety of new furniture pieces. There are hanging lights that can be used, and fluorescent light bars that some players may find familiar for a classroom setting. The resort in Happy Home Paradise also compiles a list of recommended furniture that fits with the classroom aesthetic, but players have the option to add pieces outside of the list.

In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the exterior of the school is the first thing players will be asked to customize. The shape and style of the school cannot be changed, but the color scheme can be. Once inside, players will need to put in the necessary furnishings for the classroom. After meeting the requirements for building a school, players can start getting creative. There are bulletins, corkboards, posters, and other wall decorations that can add to the authentic feel of the classroom. Players will also have additional furniture, like an anatomical model or a record box, that can relate to a specific school subject.

Additional items that enhance the classroom can be found in the extensive catalog of new furniture available for decorating at the resort. Players can add a class pet by including a hamster cage in their classroom or convey an early grade school design by adding a play area with games and toys. For a more mature classroom design, players can use electronics kits, microscopes, or cartoonist sets. There are many items available that can help players create a specific type of school, such as an art, science, or music school. Players can still learn DIY recipes from Niko or how to add bugs from Nat no matter what style their classroom is.

Designing facilities allows players to express their style in professional businesses rather than inside their homes. There are numerous school design options to explore making each new classroom a unique, expressive facility. Animal Crossing: New Horizons also has a few other facilities in the Happy Home Paradise DLC that players can decorate.
